Dec 29: Cool Old Julian Ride Report

We had 16 descenders out today, despite fairly cold temperatures and
forecast calling for a chance of rain.
Jeff, Voris, Neil and I separated from the group at Bandy Canyon to
practice our time trial formation. We met up with a group again at Old
Julian. On the way back the pace was fairly pedestrian and we
splintered off into smaller groups – some went back through HVR, Voris
did Mussey and Neil climbed Mt. Woodson (we need to do it all together
as a club some day). The rain never materialized (not until later,
after lunch), and despite cold weather we enjoyed nice cloud coverage.
See photos attached.
You should have come!

This was the final descenders group ride for 2012. I will host a New
Year’s ride – I would suggest meeting at the bottom of the Torrey
Pines (the light at the crossing of Carmel Valley and Torrey Pines) at
9AM. It takes ~30min to ride there from 56 and BMR crossing, so I
would suggest 8:25AM meeting time for those coming from that
direction.
The plan is to ride over to Fiesta Island (via Gilman Dr. and Santa Fe
bike path) for some more TTT practice or just easy riding around,
depends on your goals.
