A winter ride through NorthWest neighbourhoods of Boston – Billerica, Bedford, Burlington, Lexington, Arlington, Somerville, Cambridge and back. A lot of it on Minuteman bike path and Routes 4/2A/Mass Ave., through historical parts of revolutionary war.
The snow was forecasted at noon, and it started snowing pretty hard right as I was finishing my ride – most of the roads were still pretty dry for majority of the ride, though, so I timed it just right.
I am in town on business and I left my Ritchey Breakaway at home this time – instead I borrowed my brother’s old steel, (and rusty!) 7-speed Bianchi with ancient drivetrain and downtube shifters, deep handlebar drops – I felt super old-school, and a bit uncomfortable at times. A few hours later we have a few inches of snow on the ground, it looks like MTB ride time tomorrow.
